Rumen Radev, prime minister and leader of Progressive Bulgaria, has called on voters to end the era of the "patchwork coalition" for good. He spoke to journalists after a meeting of the party's executive council outside its headquarters.
Radev called that period "shameful". He said the old establishment parties must not get a chance to stand in the way of a "new dynamic".
The patchwork coalition still exists, he said. Its leaders, though now in opposition, are doing all they can to hamper the fight against oligarchy, and are raising their tone just before the choice of a new Supreme Judicial Council.
The prime minister said that in recent days state bodies have acted firmly against people about whom there are reports and evidence of corruption.
