Sofia District Prosecutor's Office is investigating the death of a prosecutor seconded to the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor's Office, the institution said. The prosecutor died on 23 October.

Investigators opened the pre-trial case on suspicion of inducing or helping someone to take their own life. The prosecutor's office says the evidence gathered so far does not show that anyone else was involved in the death.

The weapon was the prosecutor's own and was legally held, Sofia District Prosecutor's Office told BTA.
