Haskovo regional election commission has set up four new polling stations for the 25 October presidential election, in a care home, two hospitals and a remand prison, commission chair Ina Veskova told BTA.
Voting will take place at the care home for the elderly in Ivaylovgrad, the Haskovo multi-profile hospital, the Haskovo remand prison and St Ekaterina hospital in Dimitrovgrad. The commission named five members to each station's panel in decisions dated 22 October.
The Electoral Code allows a polling station in a hospital, care home, other specialised social institution or detention facility. At least 10 voters with the right to vote must have asked to vote there.
The region already has 468 regular and seven mobile polling stations. A total of 3,805 panel members will run the vote, Veskova said.
The commission did not consider the first complaint about the presidential election. An authorised representative of a political party filed it over a media report that regional administration officials took part in an event in Svilengrad, where the candidate pair were present.
The commission also rejected two requests from political parties to replace panel members, because the members concerned had not filed applications.
Panel members have instructions and checklists for the days before the vote and for election day, Veskova said. They follow the guidelines of the Central Election Commission and, she said, make it easier to track the steps for voting on paper and by machine.
