Haskovo Regional Court on 2 November refused a request from two men charged with murder in the village of Stransko to ease their detention in custody. The case was put off until 10 November, 4.30pm.

The defendants are Bulgarian citizens, aged 53 and 29. Prosecutors say that on 15 September in Stransko, in Dimitrovgrad municipality, they deliberately killed a 42-year-old man, a former resident of Yambol. They are accused of shooting him with a .50-calibre UMAREX pistol and hitting him on the body with hard objects.

According to the charges, the two acted as co-perpetrators, with each other and with a 29-year-old, also Bulgarian. They are charged under Article 115, read with Article 20, paragraph 2, of the Criminal Code.

The lawyer for the 53-year-old asked for a forensic medical examination because his health has worsened, and the court agreed. More medical evidence must be gathered, and a forensic doctor must write an opinion.

The custody order was issued on 17 September, two days after the killing they are charged with.
