The kitchen of the Home Social Patronage service in Svilengrad has new professional equipment worth €30,273.43, the town council said. The money comes from a programme run by the Social Protection Fund.

The council carried out the project "Improving and Modernising the Facilities of the Home Social Patronage – Svilengrad Municipality". Its agreement with the fund, No. РД04-15/08.04.2026, falls under the target programme "Improving the Facilities of Home Social Patronage". The work took seven months.

The kitchen now has a new electric cooker with hobs, a fridge, freezers, a combi oven, an electric potato peeler and an electric vegetable cutter. A stainless steel cold room, a dishwasher, stainless steel work cabinets and a compact tray trolley have also been installed.

The council says the equipment will make work easier for staff, make the kitchen more productive, and improve how food is prepared and stored. It also expects better service for elderly people and people from vulnerable groups.

The service has 320 users in 17 towns and villages in the municipality.
