Harmanli councillors vote today on whether to set up a permanent committee to support gifted children and young people. The item is on the draft agenda for the regular council meeting, which the municipality proposed.
The committee would have five members. Ordinance No. 30, which is in force, requires it. According to the document attached to the item, members would assess, select and approve requests for support. The papers are on the municipality's website.
Councillors will also consider a report titled "Analysis of the needs for support of the personal development of children and students in the municipality". It will feed into the regional strategy for personal development, which is being drawn up.
The meeting is also due to confirm a manager for Medical Centre I, picked after a competition. Nanko Nanev came first in the ranking.
The agenda has eight items. The other reports deal with the disposal of municipal property and with additions to the programme for managing municipal property.
