Prime minister Rumen Radev has asked young police officers and firefighters to restore justice and public trust in state institutions. He spoke at the 2026 graduation ceremony at the Interior Ministry Academy.

Cadets from the Police faculty and the Fire Safety and Protection of the Population faculty received their diplomas.

Radev said people in expensive black cars must obey traffic laws too, and corruption in the highest levels of power must not go unpunished. "We expect you to restore trust in the institutions and to show together that they work in the interest of Bulgarian citizens, not of shadowy circles," he said.

He warned the cadets that the job will not be easy, because they will face danger and probably temptation. He urged them not to stray from their path, because it will not do them any good.

"The history of the Interior Ministry also remembers cases when your former colleagues went over to the dark side," the prime minister said.
